  • In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize Brenda's Pet Styling & Grooming to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary.

  • No-Show and Cancellations:

No-Show, Last-minute cancellations (less than 48 hours' notice) or a continual re-scheduling are subject to a $25 fee per pet, which will be due upon receipt. Prepayment for the sum will be required 3 days prior to the next booked appointment, if not paid the said appointment will be canceled. We understand there are emergency situations and will work with you. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment. As a courtesy, we do text and/or email to confirm the date and time at least 2 days prior to your appointment.

  • Hold Harmless Agreement:

By signing this Contract/Service Agreement, I, the owner, agree to hold MY GROOMER, and contract workers harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of my pet(s), either known or unknown to MY GROOMER. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases.

  • Accidents:

There is always a possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp. Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur, including cuts, nicks, and scratches. In most cases, this can happen when a dog is wiggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible, but an excited dog can be dangerous to continue to work on. We reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed. If you arrive to pick up your dog and it is still being groomed, please do not talk to it or allow it to see you. Sit quietly, or step outside for a few moments. Every effort will be made to ensure your dog is groomed as safely as possible. It can be dangerous to work on an excited dog. If you insist on talking to your dog, we reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if not completed, and the full grooming price will be charged.

  • Health or Medical Problems and Senior Dogs:

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior dog or a dog with health problems. These procedures can expose hidden or aggravate known medical problems, during or after the groom. Because senior dogs with health problems have a greater chance of injury; these dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, and the style that will not add to their stress.

  • Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs:

Owners must inform Brenda’s Pet Styling & Grooming if their dog(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other dogs or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your dog and protects both the dog and the groomer. Brenda’s Pet Styling & Grooming reserves the right to refuse/stop service for such dogs at any time before or during the grooming process, and charge an Aggressive Dog Fee, in addition to the regular grooming charge. If the pet should bite, I agree to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage. Customers also understand that all bites will be reported to local authorities as required by law.

  • Late Drop-off:

After 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment, we will send you a text. If you are more than 30 minutes late, we will have to reschedule your appointment. If the groomer is able to fit you in, an additional $20 Fee will be applied to accommodate.

  • Late Pick-up:

Once your dog’s appointment is complete, we ask that you promptly pick up your dog within an hour of our text, email, or a call. A $20 Fee will be applied to your invoice. To enforce this policy a $50 Kennel Fee may be added to your invoice if your dog is not picked up by closing. Please be on time to pick up your pet(s). We work by appointment and do not have the staff or facilities for your pet to stay after the groom has been completed.

  • Mat Removal:

Dogs with matted coats need extra attention during the grooming session. Mats left in a dog’s coat will only grow tighter and can strangle the dog’s skin or eventually tear it open. Brenda’s Pet Styling & Grooming does not wish to cause or undue stress to your dog and will not continually de-mat your dog. We believe in comfort over vanity. Mats can be very difficult and uncomfortable to remove and may require the dog to be shaved. When necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasion due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the dog's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved dogs are also prone to sunburn and should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until their hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, dogs can also exhibit brief behavioral changes. There is an extra charge for de-matting. Prevention is the best defense against matting, therefore, be sure to schedule regular grooming appointments. We will do our best to remove mats, but not at the expense of your dog experiencing pain or discomfort. Therefore, a severely matted dog may not have a grooming outcome you would expect.

  • Parasites and Skunk Smell:

If you suspect your dog has fleas, ticks, or has been skunked, prompt and thorough action on your dog is needed. A flea infestation can lead to tapeworm and other health problems. If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process, you will be charged an additional fee to properly treat your dog. Brenda’s Pet Styling and Grooming will not use pesticide dips or sprays on your dog. Ticks found will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest that you have your dog tested for Lyme disease. Parasites are a health hazard to your dog, as well as to humans. If your pet has any fleas and/or has been skunked, they will be given a special treatment bath at your expense.

  • Anal Gland Expressions and Ear Cleaning:

If an ear infection is suspected, it is the owner’s responsibility to seek veterinary care. We only use mild external expression for anal glands and make no guarantee that anal glands will not become overfull, rupture or become infected between grooming visits as results vary for each pet. Pets with chronic anal gland issues should be expressed by a veterinarian.

  • Puppy’s First Haircut:

The first grooming experience for a puppy (or any age dog) requires patience and understanding. More time may be necessary to work with younger pets. Gradually adding steps to the grooming process, on a regular basis will help to minimize any potential stress. I understand that I can help my pet(s) accept grooming by regularly massaging my pet’s paws as well as brushing and combing their coats. Frequent handling of paws can help pets better accept nail clipping or trimming around the feet.

  • Return Check Policy:

Checks that are returned are subject to a $35 Service Fee. Future appointments must be paid in cash or with credit card PRIOR to the start of your pet’s next appointment.

  • Photography Consent:

I hereby consent my pet(s) to be photographed and I authorize Brenda’s Pet Styling and Grooming to use, reproduce, and display the said photograph(s) in Brenda’s Pet Styling and Grooming website or other material for promotional purposes. Images are property of Brenda’s Pet Styling and Grooming. The use of images remains loyalty free indefinitely on a voluntary basis and is not considered work for hire.
